How the GST split works
If your GSTIN state matches the buyer's state, GST is split 50/50 into CGST and SGST. If states differ (or the buyer has no GSTIN in a different state), the whole GST amount is charged as IGST. The tool handles this automatically once you pick both states.
For exports (buyer in a foreign country) pick Foreign / Export as the buyer state, set the currency to USD/EUR/GBP, and the tool automatically zero-rates the invoice. Add a note like "Export of service under LUT, zero-rated". See our GST guide for creators for when LUT applies.
What you need on a GST invoice
- Sequential invoice number (unique per financial year)
- Invoice date
- Your name, address, GSTIN, and state
- Buyer's name, address, GSTIN (if any), and state
- Description of service or product + SAC/HSN code
- Quantity, rate, value, GST rate, and GST amount (split correctly)
- Place of supply

Prefer this on autopilot?
If you sell subscriptions, courses, or digital products through Fluxeta, GST invoices with the right CGST/SGST/IGST split are generated automatically for every sale via Razorpay's invoicing layer. No copy-pasting into a spreadsheet at the end of every month.
