Common questions

What are meta tags and why do I need them?

Meta tags are the HTML in the <head> of a page that tell Google, Facebook, WhatsApp, LinkedIn and X (Twitter) what the page is about, what image to show in previews, and how the title should read in search results. Get them wrong and your link either doesn't rank, or shows a blank thumbnail when someone shares it. This tool writes them for you.

Which meta tags does this generator produce?

Title, description, canonical URL, robots (index / noindex), viewport, charset, Open Graph (og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url, og:type, og:site_name), Twitter cards (twitter:card, twitter:title, twitter:description, twitter:image, twitter:site, twitter:creator), and the author tag. That's the full modern set. Google, Meta and X don't need anything else for a well-formatted preview.

What are the ideal lengths for title and description?

Title: 50–60 characters. Google truncates around 580 pixels wide, which is roughly 60 characters for most title fonts. Description: 120–160 characters. Under 120 and Google often rewrites it from your body text. Over 160 and it gets cut mid-sentence with an ellipsis. The generator counts as you type.

What image size should I use for the Open Graph image?

1200×630 pixels is the safe size for every platform. Facebook, LinkedIn and WhatsApp expect 1.91:1 ratio. Twitter accepts up to 2:1 for large-card layouts. Anything smaller than 600×315 and Facebook falls back to a small square thumbnail instead of the large preview card. JPG or PNG, under 5 MB.

Where do I paste the generated HTML?

Inside the <head> tag of your page, before the closing </head>. On WordPress: use the theme's header.php or a plugin like Yoast / Rank Math. On Framer, Webflow or Wix: each has a custom-code slot in page settings. On a plain HTML page: paste directly between <head> and </head>.

Do I need this if I'm already on Fluxeta?

No. Fluxeta writes all these tags for every post, product, course and creator page automatically. The SEO fields in the editor set the meta and Open Graph values, and the platform emits the correct Twitter, LinkedIn and WhatsApp preview markup at render time. This tool is here for people not yet on Fluxeta, or generating tags for a static landing page.
